Mindless musings on my thoughts, experiences, and hopes.

Got my papers last Thursday and I've been moving along ever since. Phew, finally. I have outprocessed in record time and I'm heading out on Wednesday morning. I am definitely going to miss the Army as far as the "Army stuff." It's pretty cool and the soldiers are usually pretty cool, at least in the MI part I've dealt with. Now I head home and need to hit the ground running. I'd love to find something in NC where I can help out the U.S. with my military and Arabic background, but for now it's back to environmental science work. I like that work too, but it'd be cool to do my part. Well, for now, I'm packing, outprocessing, and hanging out in beautiful downtown Monterey as much as I can for these last couple of days. Well, this is me signing out from Monterey. Next report will be from NC as I begin a new round of what will hopefully be more adventures.

So I get back to Monterey and don't have my paperwork yet, so I call to find out what the hell is going on and I find out that the papers, which I were told were sent Dec 11, got to the processing place on Jan 7. By the way, it's done electronically. So some dumbass screwed up big time and now I still here sitting on my arse. Well, I have between 1 day to 2 weeks before I get my papers now, when I was hoping to have had them a week ago. Overall, I love the army experience, but there are some major aspects that are less than desirable and it's costing DOD a lot of money due to inefficiency. Well, trying to get home for a few days this weekend for the heck of it.

So here it is January something or another and I'm still in California....Monterey to be exact. I have everything prepped so that as soon as I have the papers to go back east, I'm hitting the ground running. I really want the orders tomorrow so I can get home by the end of the week. I hear it is freezing back home, so in the meantime, I will enjoy the moderate sunny weather here. So I pretty much work during the day and job hunt by night....you can call me the nocturnal job predator.... Anyway, time to surf the web.
