Mindless musings on my thoughts, experiences, and hopes.

Well I had a cool Christmas. Hung out with family and went to midnight mass with my father, the first time he has been to Church in awhile. I hope he starts going again. I did miss going to church with my girlfriend, but she was with her family and if I can get my dad to church, then I'm there! I swear I'm not proselytizing! lol. Anyway, I got some good loot and my family liked their gifts as well. My girlfriend made me this amazing intricate blanket for me. It's one of the best gifts I've ever received and it kept me nice and warm last night. She started making this blanket back in JUNE!!! Unreal. All the while moving to NC and starting graduate school. I don't know how she did it. She's up in NY visiting fam right now and I miss her som'n fierce.

Other things: Saw that LOTR movie tonight with my dad and off to a Caps game tomorrow. Counting down my final days in the military. I'm going to miss the Army somewhat.

Merry Christmas everyone!
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Okay, back already. Heading up from NC to northern VA for Christmas. Time to hang out with the zany family for a week and a half. Hopefully, I'll catch a hockey game or two with my buddy Kyle. For New Year's Eve, I'm tentatively planning on hanging out in Fredericksburg. I really dig the small town party atmosphere. It seems more personal and in my opinion, a lot more fun. But then again, to me fun would be a group of friends, some drinks, and a warm place to hang out.

It's been a bit since I've last posted. Wow, Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is now a week away. I've been really busy job hunting and or dealing with my current company on my return to civilian life. I've also been working a lot to get things situated before the company heads off for Christmas. Actually, I was able to bolt from Monterey a week early and I'm now at home in Durham and able to visit with my girlfriend. Being able to talk face to face and hang out has been really nice and I can't wait to be back permanently in January. I just wish the job issue was taken care of so I wouldn't have a thing to worry about for once. I guess I should I also start prepping for the GRE and looking into graduate programs down here. But one step at a time. Merry Christmas everyone and hopefully I'll post sooner than later.
