Mindless musings on my thoughts, experiences, and hopes.

Forgot about this Blog. I've had quite the year. This is actually my one year anniversary for my engagement (July 3) and my current job (July 6). Anyway, all is well, I'm plugging away and doing my best. The wedding is in 3 months and I'm stoked for it. I absolutely can't wait to be married to my fiancee and to start a whole new set of life adventures. Kick ass.

That's it in a nutshell.

Maybe I'll update sooner rather than later.

Two postings in one month. I'm on a roll! I took that job offer and put in my resignation. Everyone at the office was excited for me except the head office manager who was none so happy. But that was to be expected and one of reasons I'm not upset for leaving even though I think my co-workers here are great people and professionals. So I start the new job on July 6 and it does entail me moving yet once again. Just call me Mr. Mobile.

My injury is still healing from surgery and it's still too early to tell if it will be a total success. A total success being a lot less pain and more mobility, but it won't ever be 100% again. Part of life and I'll take it in stride. I'll be stoked to get the injury fixed well enough to mountain bike and run without too much leg pain. Sweet.

Still here, just had surgery for my injury last week and I'm recovering nicely. A potentially nice job opportunity came my way; let's see where that takes me.

Reagan's funeral and lie in state at the rotunda was very amazing. It's a privilege to see it regardless of what your politics may be.

Well, I have totally forgotten to post in a long time. Wow. Time is flying. I am still in NoVa working a few days a week up here and between holidays, weddings, and graduations, I am constantly on the highways. So I am still trying to get settled...still. Overall, things are cool. My injury is still nagging so I'm getting it checked out. What else...went to the beach last weekend in S. NC and it rocked! Can't wait to go back and it's easily a weekend trip location. Hope everyone is well.

Phew, here I am again. I really need to start posting more routinely again, but I'm still getting back into the swing of things. So I'm still commuting up to DC to work for a few days a week. Hopefully my job hunt in the Raleigh area will pay off soon so I can be closer to home. I've been doing a lot of thinking and I want to switch my career direction to the business area. I have some background in business and economics, and I even have some graduate business courses, so I hope I can find some type of employment in this area. I guess a security clearance, a science/analytical background, and the ability to speak Arabic can't hurt either. So if anyone knows of a potential job in the Raleigh/Durham/RTP area, please let me know. :-)

Other than that, wow, the weather has been amazing. I swear when the weather is warmer and more humid, I just feel much more active and relaxed. I hope to start doing some easy rides on my mountain bike soon. Hope everyone is well.

Okay, finally posting again. After running around half crazy at all the 100 requisite stops at the Presidio, I finished everything and made it to NC on Jan 28. Now I made it, but my car is still to this date in Monterey. The army took awhile to get the approval to move my car, but I now have the approval and I have a couple of really good friends who will help with getting it shipped out here. Now I'm almost situated and I start up work again tomorrow in NoVA. So I'm renting a car and driving north and working in VA for a few days a week and in NC the rest of the time. Not ideal, but expected in this transitioning back to civilian work.

Got my papers last Thursday and I've been moving along ever since. Phew, finally. I have outprocessed in record time and I'm heading out on Wednesday morning. I am definitely going to miss the Army as far as the "Army stuff." It's pretty cool and the soldiers are usually pretty cool, at least in the MI part I've dealt with. Now I head home and need to hit the ground running. I'd love to find something in NC where I can help out the U.S. with my military and Arabic background, but for now it's back to environmental science work. I like that work too, but it'd be cool to do my part. Well, for now, I'm packing, outprocessing, and hanging out in beautiful downtown Monterey as much as I can for these last couple of days. Well, this is me signing out from Monterey. Next report will be from NC as I begin a new round of what will hopefully be more adventures.
